Hum Bhi Chale......

A few days back a friend asked me- "Why didn't I take the 'conventional route in life' when I had all what it takes to be successful at it." 'Conventional route in life'.....hmmmm... interesting!!!! Why I didn't take it in life.....interesting still??? :-)

Well, I don't think I have a conventional answer to why didn't I start my journey of life on a given path which is pre-defined for most people around. The least I can say is - I never like conventions. May be I have never known conventions!

So this time my poem out here is for all those like me who have allowed themselves to flow with the time and enjoyed the surprises that life brought for them. :)


सागर सी बहती इस दुनिया में,
एक लहर बन हम भी बहते चले |
गगन में उड़ते पंछिओं की तरह,
एक पंछी बन उड़ते हम भी चले |


सपने झोली में रख, मंज़िल की ओर,
कारवां अपना लेके हम भी चले |
राह के पत्थरों को ठोकरों से हटाते,
चुप-चाप हम भी चलते चले |


मंज़िल है ओझल अभी,
राह का कुछ पता भी नहीं |
फिर भी हवा के झोंके के संग,
लहराते- बतियाते हम भी चले |


कभी - कभी मन काँप उठे,
और कभी तो खुद पे नाज़ करे |
कभी डरते हुए, कभी सीना ताने,
पगडण्डी पे हम चलते चले |

कशमकश की इस दुनिया में,
बस अपने साये को साथ लिए,
बिन सोचे, बिन समझे,
हम बढते चले, बस चलते चले |
