THE RAIN LOG :)

This monsoon is my twenty-third,
Yet like every year I still wonder,
If the time has flown too fast or has it stuck?

It seemed only yesterday,
When I sang and danced in undies in the rain.
Only yesterday when I waved my paperboat goodbye,
As it sailed through the drain.
It was only yesterday,
When I covered myself in funky raincoats,
From head to toe.
And cried hard when I overgrew my rainbow umbrella,
And it was time for it to go.

Though the damp mud still smells the same,
The rain washed flora still look bright orange,
Though it still rains in July,
But sometimes it seems,
Time did fly.

Rain is no more innocence,
Now it's only Bollywood songs and romance.
Now it's not our shrieks and Mom's lap,
When it thunders.
It about the boyfriend's hug,
That is all we care for and wonder.
Rain is not about hot pakoras anymore
What's with the calories that we all have in galore.

An hour passed and I woke up from my slumber,
Whether time flew or has it stuck,
I will always wonder.
I looked out of the window,
It was raining cats and dogs,
I jumped out of the bed,
To welcome the rains,
And gave a hell to my time logs. :)
